  1. Tomato –

After this, you can re-pot the seedlings in a 12X12 pot or grow bag. After 15-20 days of repotting, you can apply any organic fertilizer (e.g. vermicompost, cow dung manure, etc.). 

Tomato plant needs full sunlight. After 60 – 70 days the fruits become ready for harvesting.

To grow broccoli in your home garden, you will first have to prepare its seedlings. After planting its seeds in a seedling tray, seedlings are formed in 20-25 days.

To plant this, the seeds are planted in the soil of the pot or grow bag, there is no need to prepare its seedlings.

For this, the size of the pot or grow bag is 24X12 inches. Otherwise, choose a pot or grow bag whose width is more and depth is less.

there are many types of carrots available in the market like red carrots, yellow carrots, black carrots etc. But in winter, yellow carrot which is orange in colour grows very well.

Carrots become ready for harvesting within 60-80 days of sowing the carrot seeds.

  1. Cherry tomato – 

The first vegetable to be planted in the month of September is cherry plum. The first sapling is ready for planting, which becomes ready in 20-25 days after planting the seeds in the seedling tray.

For repotting the seedlings, a 15X15 inch grow bag is best. Plant only one plant in one grow bag.

If you choose indeterminate-type plants that grow up to 8 – 10 feet tall, a 15 x 15 inch grow bag is suitable. It gives very good growth in a 15X15 inch grow bag.

Due to its height, the plant requires support, you can use bamboo sticks for support. After 60-70 days, cherry tomatoes are ready for harvest.

  1. Green chilli –

After 70 – 90 days the chillies are ready for harvesting.

  1. Potato – 

The first vegetable to be planted in winter is potato. Potatoes should be planted when the temperature drops below 26 degrees. If you plant potatoes at a temperature higher than this, the plant will grow but it will not produce potatoes.

When tiny sprouts appear on the potato, which is also called the eyes of the potato, plant them in a grow bag or pot.

For this, the size of the grow bag or pot is 12X15 inches. Use organic fertilizer 1-2 times a month. Also, use mulching if necessary. Potatoes are ready for harvest after 60 to 80 days.

  1. Brinjal – 

The next vegetable to be planted in the month of September is brinjal, which you can easily plant in your kitchen garden. To plant brinjal you will first have to prepare its seedlings.

Once you plant the seeds in the seedling tray, you will have brinjal seedlings ready in 20-30 days.

After the seedling is ready, plant the sapling in a 12X12 inch pot or grow bag. You have to plant one sapling in a grow bag. Cabbage can be harvested after 60 to 70 days. 

To check whether the cabbage is ready for harvesting, you can hit it on the top and it will make a thumping sound. One cabbage will be obtained from one plant.

Another vegetable is garlic which you can include in your kitchen garden or you can grow it in the month of September. 

Garlic is one such vegetable that can be used in two ways – one is its leaves and the other is its fruit. To grow garlic, press the garlic cloves one inch deep into the soil at a distance of 4 to 5 inches directly in a grow bag of size 12X15 inches. 

After 60 to 90 days you will get garlic leaves to harvest and after 7 to 9 months your garlic will be ready for harvesting.

For this, a 12X12 inch grow bag will be suitable. After 50 to 60 days your French beans will be ready to harvest. 

The bush variety of French beans is not very big and a huge amount of beans can also be plucked. French bean plants grow easily in winter.

  1. Lettuce –

  1. Bottle Gourd – 

Bottle gourd is a vine vegetable, you can easily grow it in your kitchen garden in the month of September. Bottle gourd has a large vine so you can use a creeper net. 

To grow it, you plant seeds in a grow bag of size 24X24 inches. When the gourd brings flowers, hand pollination must be done.

  1. Bitter Gourd –

Coriander can be harvested after 45 to 50 days of germination and can be harvested for next 2 to 3 months.

Spinach is a vegetable grown in winter. Spinach is a leafy vegetable. Iron is found in very large quantities in spinach. To plant spinach, spinach seeds can be sown in a 24X6 inch grow bag. 

After sowing the seeds, germination will begin in 4 to 6 days. After 50 to 60 days, spinach will be ready for harvesting and can be harvested for the next 2 to 3 months.

  1. Radish –

To grow radish, its seeds are sown and planted in the soil of a 24X12 inch grow bag or pot at a distance of 6 to 8 inches. 

Radish seeds may take 4 to 6 days to germinate. White radish takes 60 to 70 days to harvest while red radish is ready to harvest sooner in 30 to 40 days.

  1. Beetroot – 

The next vegetable for a home garden or kitchen garden is the cucumber. Beetroot can be grown in both ways, either it can be sown by seeds or it can be planted in a grow bag or after preparing its seedlings, it can be repotted. 

For this, take a rectangular grow bag whose depth should be 6 to 9 inches. Beetroot is ready to be harvested in 70 to 90 days. The special thing is that beetroot leaves can also be eaten.

  1. Kale – 

Kale is a winter-season vegetable that you can grow in your home garden. This sugar falls in the category of fruit. It has to be grown after preparing its sapling.

  1. Zucchini –

After sowing the seeds, it will sprout in 6 to 7 days. Zucchini becomes ready for harvesting after approximately 50 to 60 days.
